Search results will appear below. Can I interface an hsb Pathfinder Display with an hsb2 Pathfinder Display? I currently own a Raytheon RL70CRC and have recently purchased a Raymarine L760. May the radar and chartplotter features of the currently installed Raytheon RL70CRC be shared with the Raymarine L760? The RL70CRC and L760 belong to a retired product line known as Pathfinder Series Displays. When a Pathfinder Series Display is powered on, a boot screen will be displayed referencing Raymarine or Raytheon.
If the boot screen references Raymarine, then the display is considered to be a. Pathfinder PLUS Series Displays lacking the prefix 'SL' on the product's fascia badge feature an hsb2 port. Hsb2 Pathfinder Plus Series Displays may be interfaced via an hsb cable(s) to another hsb2 Pathfinder PLUS Series Display(s) and/or a, and/or a PC running to share radar, fishfinder, and C-Map Cartography.
Hsb2 Pathfinder Series Displays may not be interfaced to hsb Pathfinder Series Displays for the purpose of sharing radar, fishfinder, and C-Map Cartography. If the display's boot screen references Raytheon, then the display is considered to be a Pathfinder (non-PLUS) Series Display. Pathfinder (non-PLUS) Series Displays lacking the prefix 'SL' on the display's fascia badge feature an hsb port. An hsb Pathfinder (non-PLUS) Series Display may be interfaced to one other hsb (not hsb2) Pathfinder (non-PLUS) Series Display for the purpose of sharing radar, fishfinder, and C-Map Cartography. Pathfinder (non-PLUS) Series Displays, other than fishfinders (L755, L760, L1250, etc.) may currently be upgraded to become Pathfinder PLUS Series Displays. For pricing of the hsb to hsb 2 hardware upgrades, click.
Note that this upgrade is not simply a software update, as some of display's internal hardware must be replaced. It should also be noted that the hardware required to perform these upgrades is becoming scarce. As such, should one be considering whether to upgrade a Pathfinder (non-PLUS) Series Display, it is recommended that the decision be made sooner rather than later.
Raytheon L265 Fishfinder
Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forum Bill, Should your L760 feature hsb2 rather than hsb communications circuitry, then it may be used with a DSM250 (retired), DSM30, or DSM300. Raymarine used to be a division of Raytheon and while owned by Raytheon, its recreational marine electronics bore the Raytheon brand name. After the recreational marine electronics division was sold, its products now bare Raymarine the name.
Raytheon L760 Fishfinder Chartplotter
The Pathfinder Series display in question was produced under the brand name Raytheon as well as Raymarine. When manufactured under the Raytheon brand name, the Pathfinder Series displays were manufactured with hsb (also referred to as hsb1) communications circuitry. When manufactured under the Raymarine brand name, the Pathfinder Series displays were manufactured with hsb2 communications circuitry. Products manufactured with hsb communications circuitry are not compatible with those manufactured with hsb2 communications circuitry. As many Pathfinder Series displays with hsb communications circuitry were upgraded by their owners with hsb2 communication circuitry via Raymarine's Product Repair Centers, the only way to be certain whether a second hand Pathfinder Series display features hsb or hsb2 communications circuitry is by examining the splash screen image that is displayed while the Pathfinder Series Display display is booting. Should the splash screen image reference Raytheon, then the displays feature hsb communications circuitry and would be capable of being interfaced with one other display featuring hsb communications circuitry to share radar/chartplotting/fishfinding features. The currently installed software version will be specified within the Navigational Warning message that must be acknowledged each time that the display is powered on.
Should the splash screen image reference Raymarine (as yours does), then the display feature hsb2 communications circuitry and would be capable of being interfaced with up to 7 displays featuring hsb2 communications circuitry to share radar/chartplotting/fishfinding features. Pathfinder Series Displays featuring hsb2 circuitry may also be interfaced to a DSM250, DSM30, or DSM300 which in turn may be interfaced to a compatible fishfinder transducer to add digital fishfinding capability to Pathfinder Series Radar, Chartplotter, and Fishfinder Displays. Pathfinder Series Displays featuring hsb2 communications circuitry also feature the ability to transfer waypoint/route data between displays via hsb2.
This feature is not supported by hsb Pathfinder Series Displays. Hsb Pathfinder Series Displays may not be interfaced with hsb2 Pathfinder Series Displays for the purpose of sharing graphical radar, cartographic, or fishfinder high speed data. Raymarine is no longer producing parts for hsb/hsb2/SL Pathfinder Series Displays. Until recently, Raymarine's Factory Repair Center was able to upgrade hsb Pathfinder Series Display with hsb2 circuitry to make them compatible with other hsb2 Pathfinder Series Displays and C-Map NT+ cartography. For the latest information concerning whether parts are available to upgrade your hsb Pathfinder Series Display with hsb2 communications circuity, it is recommended that be contacted.

Bill, The transducer may be tested by:. disconnecting the L760 from the DSM250. connecting the L760 to the transducer. configuring the L760 as a Fishfinder Master Should the transducer be operational, then it is recommended that you verify that the L760 has features hsb2 rather than hsb communications circuitry.
Click to view a related FAQ. If so, then verify that the display's fishfinder settings have been configured such that the L760 is configured to be fishfinder Repeater. If so, then click to view a Forum discussion addressing hsb2 communications diagnostics. Unfortunately, should the L760 have failing hsb2 communications circuitry, then it would need to be replaced with another hsb2 Pathfinder Series Radar, Chartplotter, or Fishfinder Display, as Raymarine can no longer service hsb/hsb2/SL Pathfinder Series Fishfinder Displays. Should the hsb2 communications circuitry of the Display be operational and the transducer be operational, then the DSM250 would need to be replaced with a DSM30 or DSM300, as Raymarine can no longer service the DSM250s.
